Gilding the Gilded Age: Interior Decoration Tastes and Trends in New York City

Phase III of a digital collection built around the theme of Gilded Age New York, entitled "Gilding the Gilded Age: Interior Decoration Tastes and Trends in New York City." The project brings together through digitization a group of late 19th and early 20th century auction catalogs held at The Frick Art Reference Library and the William Randolph Hearst Archive at LIU Post. The wider dissemination of these documents that will result from this project will assist researchers who seek to study and document artists, artistic movements, and the rise of New York City during the time it emerged as a global center for the international art market. This Omeka site exhibits highlights from the project.
