Like You Melbourne-based artist Market releases 2, their sophomore EP featuring the singles Show It and Potential (feat. Poppongene). Effortlessly weaving lo-fi tape production with auto-tuned guitars and washed out synths, the three-track is a short yet fulfilling follow up brimming with Market’s bedroom pop sensibilities. 2 was written and recorded in the iconic Cairo Flats, an Art Deco 1930s residential complex in inner Melbourne, while being deeply locked down during the pandemic and only legally allowed out for an hour a day. Despite the grim circumstances, the lightness of the space is reflected on the EP through its use of breezy-jazz chords and cheap bright drum machines.
