Chinese Chorizo, a lost historic food born out of some 100+ Chinese grocery stores in Tucson, AZ, links the past to present by reviving the an obscured story about Mexican and Chinese immigrant solidarity prevailing against harsh discrimination in Tucson, AZ during the late 1800’s to 1970’s. The Chinese Chorizo Project evokes the spirit of this collective power through an annual community run food festival, historic & cultural programming, and public sculpture.
