The International Journal of Transpersonal Studies (IJTS) is a semi-annual peer-reviewed academic journal publishing on topics in transpersonal psychology and related fields. Transpersonal psychology can be understood as a transformative psychology of the whole person embedded within a diverse, interconnected, and evolving world that pays particular attention to states of consciousness and developmental stages reflecting expansion beyond conventional notions of self. The journal is dedicated to the cultivation and publication of careful scholarship in second wave transpersonal psychology, along with research in humanistic, positive, integral, and other whole person approaches to psychology. Early transpersonal psychology held an interest in altered states as a means of transcendence toward cosmic illumination; an emergent second wave gives greater attention to transformative processes by embodied individuals amidst the challenges and diversities of life.
